The 1st Pictures Taken By The Galaxy Note 8.0

The leaks for the Galaxy Note 8.0 don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Recently, some photos of the Note 8 itself were leaked. It showed that it would come with S Pen, and how it would look compared to the Galaxy Note 2. Now, some photos have been leaked that may have been taken by the Note 8.
The photos, one of which is above, the other can be found here. So far, the rumors seem to believe the resolution will be 1280 x 800, with a 1.6GHz Exynos processor, and 2GB of RAM. According to these pics, the tablet will likely have a 5MP camera.
The pictures aren’t bad, but they aren’t amazingly great either. So don’t expect to throw the old DSLR away in exchange for the Note 8. That said, for a tablet camera, it is pretty decent. As you can see from the image above, the shot is pretty clear and the colors don’t look washed out.

So are these pictures by the Note 8 real?

As App Dated notes, the pictures have all the proper EXIF data to show it’s a Note 8. It says it’s taken by a GT-N5100. However, as App Dated also points out, this data could easily be faked. So the question is, would someone go through the trouble of faking EXIF data just to say the device is a Note 8?
Our guess is probably not. Usually when people fake leaks, they’re renderings of a device or they claim to have intimate knowledge of the specifications. They don’t typically fake out Picasa’s website and claim to have photos taken by a device. So this could very well be legit. As with any leak or rumor, take it for what it’s worth.

How To Root Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305 with Official Android 4.1.2 XXBMA6 Jelly Bean

We already shared “How To Update Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305 with Official Android 4.1.2 XXBMA6 Jelly Bean Firmware”. Now, the next step is rooting it. Having a rooted Android device comes with some serious benefits including ability to install root only apps, ability to access system files and installing extensive hacks to modify functionality for benefit. We are here to help you on rooting your smartphone.

Rooting Information: Once your device is rooted, warranty will get void; however, you can reclaim the warranty by applying official firmware update.
To Root Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305 to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, follow our guide below.
I. Before You Begin:
1. The following procedure works for Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305 Samartphone.
2. Make sure your device have at least 80% battery power.
3. You must have ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your device.
4. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
II. Downloading Required Files:
  1. CF-Auto-Root to root I9305XXBMA6 firmware [Filename: CF-Auto-Root-m3-m3zh-gti9305.zip]
  2. Odin 3.07
III. Root Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM:
1. Extract Firmware zip file and you will get a .tar file and some other files.
2. Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.07.exe along with few other files.
3. Switch off your Galaxy S3
4. Now, put the Galaxy S3 in Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up key and Power button.
5. Then, a warning message appears, press the Volume Down key to continue.
6. Now run Odin3 v3.07.exe as an Administrator because Admin privileges is required to complete the process smoothly.
7. Now connect your Galaxy S3 with your PC using USB cable.
8. Then a message will arrive under Odin’s message box in the bottom left saying “Added!!”
9. Select these files in Odin at respective tabs from extracted firmware folder:
  • Click the PDA Tab, and select the CF-Auto-Root-m3-m3zh-gti9305.tar.md5 file.
10. In Odin window, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. Also, make sure that Re-Partition checkbox is selected, only if you are using a .pit file.
11. Double check everything that we mentioned in Step 9 & Step 10 above. Now, once satisfied hit the START button to begin the flashing process.
12. Once flashing completed, you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. The tablet will then automatically rebooted and soon you will see the Samsung logo. You can then unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.

Samsung announces new waterproof smartphone – The Galaxy Xcover 2

Samsung has announced the S7710 Galaxy Xcover 2, a rugged IP67-certified smartphone. This means it is waterproof and is impact and dust resistant. While today’s smartphones may boast of as many pixels as on your television and a processor which is faster than your PC, but they are not great at outdoor use. One drop and you are almost guaranteed of a big repair bill. But that’s not the case with Samsung Xcover 2.
Though it looks like a regular Galaxy handset in a very sturdy case, but the Xcover 2 is much more than that. According to Samsung,
“Galaxy Xcover 2 is the ideal smartphone for active explorers who are enjoying outdoor lifestyles and seeking a durable mobile device with essential smartphone capabilities.”
Of course there are other water-resistant phones in the market, including its predecessor, the Galaxy Xcover. But what Xcover 2 offers is its new IP67 certified device can withstand damage if it is immersed in up to 1 metre deep in water for 30 minutes. While dust and sand have no chance of penetrating its surface with a battery cover lock as well as strap holder that the phone provides. Samsung has also added a dedicated camera key and encourages you to go and take pictures underwater with it.
As far as the specifications as a smartphone are considered, Xcover may not match a high end smartphone but its enough to fulfill your smartphone needs while going for an adventure.

But what’s interesting is that Xcover 2 was rumored to be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona (February 25-28). But it chose to unveil it just days ahead of the scheduled BlackBerry 10 launch on January 30. It seems Samsung is trying to steal Blackberry’s thunder with this launch.

Samsung start making of Jelly Bean test firmwares for the Galaxy Ace 2

The Galaxy Ace 2 is a good selling mid-range Android smartphone by Samsung and is expected to get an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update around March / April. We think it is good to see Samsung started the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Ace 2. The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is not the only mid-range Android device to get Android 4.1.2. Earlier leaked out that Samsung will update the Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Music, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace Plus and the Galaxy Mini 2 as well.  All android devices by Samsung will get the new TouchWiz Nature UX interface. Of course this will be a downgraded version of the Galaxy S III.
